Labelling
All Peppy Peeps Australia orders include a generic medication pen label. This label has space for the name of the peptide, the date of reconstitution, the total amount of peptide in the vial/cartridge, and the volume of bacteriostatic water added.
On the label:
Dose (mg) - Your desired dose of peptide
Total med (mg) - The total amount of peptide in the vial/cartridge
Bac water (units) - The total volume of bacteriostatic water in the vial/cartridge. The volume of bacteriostatic water in units, is the volume in millilitres (mL) multiplied by 100 (eg. 2.4mL x 100 = 240 units)
Dose (units) - The amount of solution that will give your desired dose (ie. this is the number you will turn the medication pen dial to)
Calculations
When you receive your peptides and medication pen kit, you will need to decide how much bacteriostatic water to add to your peptides. When making this decision, you will need to keep in mind that the pen cartridge has a 3mL capacity, and the medication pens can deliver up to 60 units (0.6mL) for each dose.

a = dose of peptide in mg*
b= total amount of peptide in each vial in mg*
c = volume of bacteriostatic water in mL (maximum 3mL)
d = dose of peptide in units (maximum 60 units)
* 1 mg = 1,000 mcg and 1 mcg = 0.001 mg
To find the dose of peptide in units (ie set volume of bacteriostatic water - max 3mL). This is the formula on the generic pen label above.
d = (a / b) x (c x 100)
Example
a = 7.5mg, b = 30mg, c = 3mL
d = (7.5/30) x (3×100)
d = 0.25 × 300
d = 75 units
Note that in this example, the dose is 75 units. As the medication pen capacity is 60 units per dose, 3mL would not be a good option for this dose.
Alternatively,
a = 7.5mg, b = 30mg, c = 2.4mL
d = (7.5 / 30) x (2.4 × 100)
d = 0.25 × 240
d = 60 units
To find the volume of bacteriostatic water in mL (ie set dose in units - max 60 units)
c = (d / a x b) / 100
Example
a = 5mg, b = 30mg, d = 60 units
c = (60 / 5 × 30)/100
c = 360 / 100
c = 3.6mL
Note that in this example, the volume of bacteriostatic water is 3.6mL. As the pen cartridge capacity is 3mL, 60 units would not be a good option for this dose.
Alternatively,
a = 5mg, b = 30mg, d = 40 units
c = (40 / 5 × 30) / 100
c = 240 / 100
c = 2.4mL
