How many pen needles do I need?

It depends on the number of doses of medication in each vial and the total number of vials you have. You can estimate the number using the following steps.

  1. Divide the total amount of medication in the vial by your desired dose (eg 30mg vial, divided by 2.5mg dose, gives 12 doses per vial)

  2. Multiply the number of doses by the number of vials you have (eg 12 doses per vial, multiplied by 1 vial, gives 12 doses)

  3. In this example, you would need about 12 pen needles. This kit contains 8 pen needles, so you would need an additional 4 pen needles.
